Pope Francis' 2024 - a Year of Prayer

After the year dedicated to reflection on the documents and the study of the fruits of the Second Vatican Council in 2023, Pope Francis has asked that 2024 be marked as a Year of Prayer in preparation for the 2025 Jubilee. This is not a Year marked with particular initiatives; rather, it’s a privileged time in which to rediscover the value of prayer, the need for daily prayer in the Christian life; a time to discover how to pray, and above all how to educate the people of today in prayer, in this age of digital culture, so that prayer can be effective and fruitful.

Praying for vocations

The Saint Thomas Vocations Committee invites you to join in praying for more vocations from our parish for the priesthood and religious life and in encouraging young people to accept God’s invitation to serve His Church.

The Vocations crucifix - Easter season 2024

Sign up to take home one of the Vocation crucifixes for the week (one at each of the weekend Masses), and return it for another to take home the following weekend.

At the Mass you choose, you will be asked to take the gifts up to the altar and receive the crucifix from the presiding priest to take home for the week. And ask that you return it to the parish office by noon on Friday so it can be given to the next person.

A prayer for vocations

I glorify you, God, in all that I do.
In mind, body, and spirit
I give my best to you.
Help me to follow your will
No matter the call:
Sister, brother, or priest,
I promise my all.
If you call me to marriage,
I promise to love
And to teach my own children
To seek grace from above.
Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
Is now, and ever shall be,
world without end. Amen.
